I often heard my lecturer said to everyone that nowadays is rarely to spend time with others face to face. Well, at certain point, his statement is considered to be true. I often saw many people are communicate only between social media and other technological as well. Back at my country, I almost everyday saw people communicate using BlackBerry Messenger a.k.a BBM, even when he/she stand next to each other. I'm just wondering, how could this be happening? When I was a child, I remembered the only one way to communicate between each other was using telephone. I rarely spoke to each other because of this. And then blam! Here comes technology! People were began to using a mobile phone and Internet became easier to access. PC and laptop became less and less expensive and many technological tools influenced the way people do their life. Many people began to exploited the power of Internet and started using social media as their way to have a "social life".
This social media things already shifted the way people runs their life. When people want some things, they just go to the online shop. When people want to see a education fair, they just searching it in google, and many other cases. It is just not right to seen people are inflicted to this kind of "new habit". My daily life for now is around technological related activities. Wake up, check my phone, turn on my laptop, searching any news, chatting, playing Facebook, etc. When it is compared to what I've done 10 years ago, it is very different. I'm not dependent on technology as like now and it created a social autism when people are only focusing on their phone instead of chatting to the people next to them. Is it will stay like this in the future? I just hope not because we, human are a social beings who need others to live from real world not online worlds. What do you think about this? Do people are still need social interaction in real life? I prefer to said yes because nothing will be able to defeat the meaning of being social in the real life
